Signs of Spring

If you live in a temperate zone where the leaves still don't have trees, then you should know that the Cherry Blossom trees are blooming! This means, Spring is fully underway. Constitution Avenue in Washington, D.C. has a row of Cherry Blossom trees that attract thousands of people each Spring. According to CNN.com, "The cherry blossom trees were a gift of friendship to the U.S. government from Japan in 1912."

The trees only bloom for two weeks and do not actually produce the cherry fruit, as you might think. Cities across the nation feature Cherry Blossom festivals, including Macon, Georgia, Newark, New Jersey and Brooklyn, New York. Get out there and see them if you can before their petals fall.
